Can we purchase admission tickets online or in person?
Booking online is a quick and easy way to prepare for your visit! Just follow the steps here to book online. Visitors can also purchase tickets for admission on-site, at the Busselton and Margaret River Visitor Centre and any of the Margaret River Caves Caves and Lighthouses.
I’m having trouble booking my ticket online
Don’t worry, call us on 08 9780 5979 between 10am and 4pm and one of our friendly team members will be able to book your tickets over the phone.
Do you have a family rate?
Unfortunately, no, we have individual pricing and do not offer a daily admissions family rate.
Is there parking?
Yes, we provide free parking for visitors, coach parking for larger groups and a spacious disabled parking space close to the entrance.
How long does it take to visit Capes Raptor Centre?
Allow a minimum of 90 minutes to make the most of Capes Raptor Centre. Bird of Prey Encounters run for approximately 40 minutes. The 1km birds of prey forest walk takes approximately 35-40 minutes. There is also a short walk alternative which takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
I would like to donate to Capes Raptor Centre, how can I do this?
Donations are welcome at the Capes Raptor Centre admissions office.
Where do your education birds come from?
All of our education birds of prey are non-releasable due to permanent injury. Unfortunately, these injuries would make it impossible for them to survive in the wild.
Can I bring my pet?
For the safety of our animals and yours, we kindly ask you to leave your pets at home or with a proper caregiver. Pets are not permitted on the grounds, including the parking lot. Please do NOT leave your pet unattended in your vehicle whilst visiting Capes Raptor Centre.
Trained service dogs with appropriate paperwork and harnesses are welcome at Capes Raptor Centre. Please call ahead a minimum of 24 hours in advance and provide service dog certification on the day.
Is Capes Raptor Centre accessible for prams and wheelchairs?
Capes Raptor Centre makes a concerted effort to ensure our facilities are accessible to all visitors. The Birds of Prey Forest Walk is an unsealed gravel pathway and is more suitable for all-terrain prams and wheelchairs.
Can I take photos?
Capes Raptor Centre welcomes visitors with still and video cameras for personal use. For the wellbeing of our birds of prey, flashes or external lighting are not permitted. For more information about commercial or promotional photography at Capes Raptor Centre, please contact on (08) 9757 7411.
Can I smoke at Capes Raptor Centre?
No smoking is permitted on the grounds.
What animals can I see?
Capes Raptor Centre is home to one of the largest collections of birds of prey in Australia. This includes Eagles, Hawks, Falcons and Owls.
What happens when it rains?
The Bird of Prey Encounters may be adjusted according to how much rain is falling. During heavy rain or wind, visitors will be provided with the opportunity to meet one of the resident barn owls. During extreme rain or wind, the Bird of Prey Encounters will be cancelled.
Are you open when it is raining?
Capes Raptor Centre is open rain or shine, unless the severity of the weather poses a threat to our visitors, staff or birds of prey. If we close due to a major weather event, we will post the news on our website or social media accounts.
Can we bring our own food into Capes Raptor Centre?
Yes, you can bring your own food. Please note glass products, alcoholic beverages, straws or barbeques are not permitted. Please help in our conservation efforts by throwing away rubbish in the bins provided, as well as recycling plastic and aluminium cans.
Is there food available at Capes Raptor Centre?
We sell drinks and ice cream. You are welcome to bring your own food and have lunch in the undercover area. Please help in our conservation efforts by throwing away rubbish in the bins provided, as well as recycling plastic and aluminium cans.
I have found a sick, injured or orphaned bird of prey, what do I do?
If you have found a wild raptor that you believe to be in distress, please call us on 08 9780 5979.
What should I do if I find an injured bird of prey after business hours?
If you require urgent assistance with an injured raptor, please call our emergency after-hours bird handler on 08 9780 5934.
Who can I call to get help for a sick or injured (non-raptor) native animal?
If you find a sick or injured native animal, please call the Wildcare Helpline on 08 9474 9055 to find your nearest experienced wildlife rehabilitator or vet.
